Donner Summit

Starting a rainy June hike on the snow-covered Pacific Crest Trail at a trailhead on Donner Summit near Truckee, California.

The Idiot frequently hikes sections of the Pacific Crest Trail, or PCT as everyone calls it, that meanders from Mexico to Canada. But he doesn’t plan to attempt to walk its entire 4,279 kilometer (2,659 miles) length until he finishes his 20-year trek around the Mediterranean Sea later this year.
