Jaywalk

Discovering the origin of the term jaywalk during a stroll on Jay Street in Redding, CA.

The Idiot met an old-timer today who insisted that the origin of Jay Street and the term jaywalk occurred simultaneously in 1921 when a drunk was hit by a black Ford Model T while walking in a “J” pattern on this dead-end street in Northern California.
