Leaving The Med

Arriving on the sandy beaches of Mersa Matruh, Egypt, and leaving the Mediterranean Sea to head south to the Siwa Oasis in the Sahara Desert.

The Idiot will take a four-hour bus ride ($2.50) south of Mersa Matruh on the Mediterranean Sea to keep an appointment he has on the first day of Spring (March 20) at the Siwa oasis with the Oracle of Amun, who proclaimed Alexander the Great a god just over 2,340 years ago. That sojourn inspired a later visit by Cleopatra.
