Weekending at the Stanford Park Hotel in Menlo Park, CA, following surgery to eradicate severe spinal stenosis that has kept him from MedTrekking.
The post-op Idiot can’t use the Stanford Park’s pool, jacuzzi, sauna or weight room following surgery at the nearby Stanford Medical Center — but he is allowed to walk for five minutes three times a day. Complete recovery is expected to take four-to-six weeks.

Joel Stratte-McClure has been a global trekker since the 1970s. He lived in France for over 30 years, working as a journalist, before he turned his attention to a unique life-time-project of walking the shores of the Mediterranean.
