Smoke

Returning to Redding, California, where smoke from forest fires completely obscures the 6:40 a.m. sunrise.

The summer sunrise view from The Idiot’s deck on a hill above downtown Redding, CA, usually features a blazing sun coming up over Mount Lassen to the east.
That’s not the case on the first day (September 4) that The Idiot returned to California after two weeks on the east coast and stepped into 108 °F heat and a city surrounded by serious forest fires burning in almost every direction.
