Adieu MedTrekker

Celebrating 78-year-old Michael Knipe’s successful completion of a MedTrekking stint on the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt before his return to London.

A celebratory dinner at the Hotel Al Alamein in Sidi Abdel Rahman, Egypt, honors 78-year-old Michael Knipe as the oldest person to accompany The Idiot on the MedTrek around the Mediterranean Sea. Mirna Ghorab, the hotel’s manager of customer relations, presented a Follow The Idiot cap to the aged MedTrekker.

Joel Stratte-McClure has been a global trekker since the 1970s. He lived in France for over 30 years, working as a journalist, before he turned his attention to a unique life-time-project of walking the shores of the Mediterranean. The last 4,401 kilometers will be discussed in the last book of the trilogy currently entitled "The Idiot and the Odyssey III: Alexander the Great Walks the Mediterranean."
