“Thanks for your comments on Matt Gross’ last blog in the NY Times.
I was so intrigued I went to The Idiot & The Odyssey web site and was delighted with what I found there. What an amazing project. I loved his comments and the pictures. I also read your wonderful story of trekking with him.
I am an 81 year old woman living in NYC. Seeing the blue Med and Sicily from the trekker’s perspective was a great experience. I relived my own Med. travel days. Med. archaeology has been a lifelong interest and as soon as family responsibilities allowed I began traveling to places like Sicily, Greece, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey, and even worked on a dig in northern Israel. That’s where I celebrated my 70th birthday as a matter of fact.
Thanks for taking me out of my four walls and back to places I love dearly. Keep on trekking and travelling and writing about your experiences”. Lucille Gordon
