PETA in Egypt

Glad that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is calling on tourists to boycott all working animals at Egypt’s major tourist sites. Walk don’t ride!

Touts at Egypt’s tourist attractions, like the pyramids of Giza, often sell camel, donkey or horse rides by claiming the money paid will be used to feed or care for animals. PETA contends that many animals and horses are victims of “horrific abuse.” Laws protecting animals in Egypt are few.
