The Idiot, who wrote three books about his twenty-year walk around the Mediterranean Sea, will soon publish a fourth book in the series entitled “The Idiot And The Odyssey: Idiotic Cooking From The Mediterranean Through The Pandemic.”
The Idiot didn’t just enjoy pristine views, sit on romantic beaches and benches, and relish seductive sunsets on the Pacific Ocean during the waning weeks of the summer of 2020. He also observed lots of humans and freaks of nature.
The Idiot, who enjoys daily 10-mile hikes on the Pacific Ocean just before Labor Day, rarely sits down on these short walks. But there are numerous places to relax if you need to take a break.
The Idiot always starts hikes during the lazy, hazy Northern California dog days of August well before sunrise and heat, often in triple digits, influence the course of the day. And he always finishes, after walking an average of ten miles four times a week since the pandemic lockdown began six months ago, before most people go to work.
The Idiot, questioned by a reader, is asked to tell the difference between zip and zen, a contemporary equivalent of yin and yang.
