The Idiot, always a fan of exotic masquerade parties, is thrilled by the magical and mystical impact of wearing masks at every opportunity during the ongoing pandemic. And he’s equally excited by the increased import and contrasting impact of illuminating examples of purity and innocence.
The Idiot, while undertaking his daily 7-14 mile solo walks during the pandemic lockdown in northern California, had some other worldly hallucinations, visions and actions during the past week.
The Idiot has been taking state-approved 7-14 mile daily solo hikes during the lockdown in rural Redding, California, to help maintain his physical, spiritual, mental and emotional condition. He hasn’t hiked this consistently, in fact, since he went on long outings during his twenty-year walk around the Mediterranean Sea from 1998-2018.
The Idiot is looking forward to completing his Zennily slow 660-kilometer walk around Paris on the GR1 long-distance hiking path in 2026.
The Idiot and MedTrekker Liz Chapin were treated to constant examples of Turkish hospitality, or misafir, during their pre-pandemic hike through southern Turkey to the Syria border. Today Turkey, like most other countries, is practicing social distancing.
The Idiot, who is fortunate to be able to solo walk for 7-12 miles daily during the ongoing pandemic lockdown in Northern California, recently recalled the carefree hike he took across the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus during his 20-year walk around the Mediterranean Sea.
