Delivering flowers to Pesto — a Jack Russell Terrier in Pasadena, California — after he was miraculously found alive following a vicious battle with a family of coyotes.
Pesto, who has 31 stitches closing three serious gashes after the violent encounter with coyotes near his home in the Pasadena hills, appreciated the flowers. He made it clear that he started the fight and thinks he won.

The next 4,401 kilometers are covered in the gods-filled sequel, "The Idiot and the Odyssey II: Myth, Madness and Magic on the Mediterranean,” published on Valentine's Day 2013.
