The Idiot, who occasionally goes on retreats at various Buddhist and Christian monasteries, frequently visited the Cistercian/Trappist abbey in Vina during the years-long construction of the new church. The monks earn their livelihood by growing walnuts and making wine. There is no hurry.

Joel Stratte-McClure has been a global trekker since the 1970s.
