The Idiot, who spent twenty years trekking around the Mediterranean Sea, is considering a walk of the same distance (about 16,000 kilometers or 10,000 miles) around the Arctic Circle after a visit to Tromsø, Norway.
He was inspired by a glimpse of the Northern Lights, the 33rd Tromsø International Film Festival, a bet by the owner of a hotdog stand and the possibility of long walking days during much of the year.

The Northern Lights weren’t the only sight provided by nature during a midnight excursion beyond Tromsø with guide/photographer Bára Vávrová.
Although there is less than two hours of daylight in mid-January, The Idiot passed the well-known Arctic Cathedral on a walk out of Tromsø, Norway. He does not plan to do much walking around the Arctic Circle during the dark and cold winter months.
The Idiot was amazed that some attendees at the 33rd Tromsø International Film Festival attended outdoor screenings. The only film The Idiot attended was in a large indoor theater.
The owner of a hotdog stand featuring the best hotdogs in the world bet The Idiot a free reindeer and beef hotdog that he wouldn’t complete the walk around the Arctic Circle.

The Idiot wondered if he’d eat much sushi during his walk around the Arctic Circle.
The Idiot and his daughter Sonia grinned and beared it during a visit to Tromsø, Norway, 350 kilometers (217 miles) north of the Arctic Circle.
