Sitting on the dock of the bay at dawn in Sausalito, CA, after a day promoting The Idiot and the Odyssey book trilogy in San Francisco.
Enjoying a quiet morning on the dock of the bay in Sausalito, California, before driving north to heathen-hot (Otis) Redding following an amusingly successful book gig at the Sausalito Library last night.
Prior to speaking at the Sausalito Library, The Idiot was interviewed in San Francisco by Peter Robinson on KALW’s Open Air.
A recording is available @ KALW.org. Go to Schedule, find Open Air under programs and listen to the June 5 (they have the wrong date) broadcast. The Idiot is on during the last fifteen minutes of the show entitled Ionesco’s Rhinoceros – Christina Bianco- OUT of Site: SOMA – The Idiot and the Odyssey. (Photo: Niels Swinkels)
About Joel
Joel Stratte-McClure has been a global trekker since the 1970s. He lived in France for over 30 years, working as a journalist, before he turned his attention to a unique life-time-project of walking the shores of the Mediterranean. The first 4,401 kilometers are explored in his inspirational and entertaining first book "The Idiot and the Odyssey: Walking the Mediterranean." The next 4,401 kilometers are covered in the gods-filled sequel, "The Idiot and the Odyssey II: Myth, Madness and Magic on the Mediterranean,” published on Valentine's Day 2013. The last 4,401 kilometers will be discussed in the last book of the trilogy currently entitled "The Idiot and the Odyssey III: Alexander the Great Walks the Mediterranean."
