A Summit Seeker isn’t too smart if he expects to find a mountaintop by walking downstream on the Sacramento River into the expansive Sacramento Valley. It’s like expecting to catch fish in a dry river bed.

Joel Stratte-McClure has been a global trekker since the 1970s.
