The Idiot, who was back on the French Riviera to “guest guide” The Blue Walk (www.thebluewalk.com) mini-MedTrek hikes from Menton to Theoule-sur-Mer from June 5-12, has posted 115 “French Riviera par iPhone” photos @ http://on.fb.me/kajCeg. And you can catch a video produced by The Blue Walk @ http://bit.ly/qZ0fIJ.
With that arduous task under his belt, he is returning to California until mid-August to train for a swim across the Bosporus followed by a MedTrek to Troy. These Turkish tasks will enable him to complete the MedTrekking aspect of his next book — “The Idiot and the Odyssey II: Myth, Magic and Madness on the Mediterranean” — and you can read all about them on FollowTheIdiot.com beginning August 25.
Meanwhile, here are a few samples of what The Idiot saw on the first and last day on the Riviera.
A florist in the Cours Saleya.
A seagull at a fish shop.
A pebbly beach.
A woozy Van Gogh.
The Promenade des Anglais closed to traffic for a film shoot.
Full moon on a beach.

He lived in France for over 30 years, working as a journalist, before he turned his attention to a unique life-time-project of walking the shores of the Mediterranean. The next 4,401 kilometers are covered in the gods-filled sequel, "The Idiot and the Odyssey II: Myth, Madness and Magic on the Mediterranean,” published on Valentine's Day 2013. The last 4,401 kilometers will be discussed in the last book of the trilogy currently entitled "The Idiot and the Odyssey III: Alexander the Great Walks the Mediterranean."
