Conversing with author Jeff Wheelwright in Morro Bay, California, during a slow road trip down Highway One from Eureka to Los Angeles.
The Idiot and Jeff Wheelwright, both graduates of the Columbia School of Journalism in 1971, often meet, hike and camp together to discuss Herman Melville, Orthodox religion, Reno’s Mustang Ranch, Alzheimer’s, writing and myriad arcane topics.
The Idiot took a couple hours off in Morro Bay during his road trip on Highway One from Eureka to Los Angeles to hear about Jeff’s recent sojourn in Melville’s footsteps to Palestine/Israel. The Idiot wrote a renowned treatise at Stanford entitled “Melville’s Dick” in 1968.
Caught by a dozen distant paparazzi while discussing Herman Melville, Israel and Palestine at Top Dog in Morro Bay, CA.
