Shocked that there’s no memorial for the 38 European tourists killed by a terrorist in this hotel near Sousse, Tunisia, in June 2015.
“We don’t want to remind our guests of a terrible incident that happened here so long ago,” an employee of the Steigenberger Kantaoui Bay Hotel told The Idiot in reference to the absence of any memorial commemorating the 38 foreigners, including 30 British nationals, killed in a mass shooting by a terrorist here just over two years ago.
The hotel, which had a different name and management at the time of the attack, certainly hasn’t improved security.
The Idiot, with a full backpack, was able to wander in off the beach, get free drinks at an open bar at the pool and squat the wi-fi for twenty minutes in the lobby without attracting any attention from the security staff.
Lax security and a slow police response were partly to blame for the successful terrorist attack in 2015.
