Discussing underwater archaeologist Art Cohn’s plans to recover the USS Spitfire, a gunboat sunk in 1776, from Vermont’s Lake Champlain.
Art Cohn, who’s about to embark on a 105-day, 1,000-mile round-trip boat tour of the Champlain and Erie Canals, is dedicating decades to recovering and preserving the USS Spitfire that sunk during the American Revolution.
