The Idiot asked a number of friends on the east coast to join him on his 9/11 flight to Beirut and MedTrek in Lebanon and Israel this month.
The invites, which were extended during an Idiot-ic road trip from Boston to Washington DC via New York, produced a unanimous response: “Go take a hike.”
Here are a selection of short hikes taken by The Idiot and various friends during the past week.
Distance: Two miles.
Actress Lynne Taylor strolled with The Idiot through New York’s Central Park to prove she could MedTrek if she didn’t have a day job.
Distance: One mile.

Author and conservative bon vivant Harry Stein, who had a road trip planned across the US this month, walked The Idiot to his manicure appointment after their leisurely lunch at Parlor Steakhouse on New York’s Upper East Side.
Distance: 20 feet.
Monica and Mary McClure, The Idiot’s nieces, walked outside Bump ‘n Grind in Silver Spring, Maryland, after discussing their move to DC, and the pressures of work that keep them there, over croissants and coffee.
Distance: 0 feet.
