The Idiot has become an avid follower of Liberty and Guardian, two bald eagles in Redding, California, who are preparing to start a new family. He checks on them during his daily hikes, avidly keeps up with them on a new, higher-tech webcam and is a member of the “Friends of the Redding Eagles” on Facebook.
Here’s some of the action as 20something-year-old Liberty, who has raised 22 eaglets with three mates since she arrived in Redding in 2006, and Guardian, her slightly younger six-year-old lover/mate/cougarette, enjoy their last weeks of “freedom” before egg laying, hatching and feeding will keep them nesting until June.
