An injury that forced The Idiot to postpone the resumption of his MedTrek in Gaza and Egypt this month enabled him to attend his 45th class reunion at the Columbia School of Journalism in New York on April 15-16.
Not only did The Idiot get up close and personal with former classmates but he also got the scoop on trends in social media, discussed the issue of race in journalism, attended a workshop on virtual reality and talked about The Idiot and the Odyssey books.
He encouraged everyone he ran into, from social media guru Sree Sreenivasan to classmate and Pulitizer Prize winner Margo Jefferson, to take a selfie or pose for a sexy photo.

The Idiot also had a professional reason to attend the Columbia School of Journalism reunion. He invited Sree Sreenivasan, Margo Jefferson, Gerthie Hartley Owtram, Harry Stein and everyone else to join him on the MedTrek from Gaza to Alexandria, Egypt, next November.

The next 4,401 kilometers are covered in the gods-filled sequel, "The Idiot and the Odyssey II: Myth, Madness and Magic on the Mediterranean,” published on Valentine's Day 2013.
