What Are Some Differences Between The Idiot’s Basecamps In Paris And Northern California?

There are definitely many places yin-er and yang-er than Paris, France, and Redding, California, a redneck part of the golden state three hours drive north of San Francisco.

Take a look at the yin and yang of The Idiot’s two quite opposite basecamps during April 2023.

Redding: A rainbow seen from The Idiot’s spacious backyard after an April rain.

Paris: Baby Gaga, The Idiot’s 5.5-year-old granddaughter, seen on the street in front of The Idiot’s Montparnasse apartment building just after an April rain.

Redding: California poppies in the backyard of The Idiot’s two-story townhouse basecamp.

Paris: Flowers in Luxembourg gardens just steps away from The Idiot’s fourth floor pied-a-terre basecamp.

Redding: Sculptures in The Idiot’s backyard.

Paris: A sculpture at the Bourdelle Museum near The Idiot’s pied-a-terre.

Redding: Ducks in a creek on The Idiot’s property.

Paris: Ducks in the Medici Fountain in Luxembourg Gardens.

Redding: Dessert at lunch.

Redding: An Easter basket from Holiday Market.

Paris: A “Bouquet of Tulips” sculpture by Jeff Koons outside the Petit-Palais museum.

Redding: Time has been stopped on this downtown clock since The Idiot got a basecamp here in 2009.

Paris: Big time at the Orsay Museum near the pied-a-terre that The Idiot began occupying almost a year ago.

Redding: The Idiot always has a solo lane at the local YMCA pool.

Paris: The Idiot almost never has a solo lane at a municipal pool.

Redding: Homeless garbage within a half-mile of The Idiot’s home.

Paris: Residential garage near The Idiot’s pied-a-terre during an April strike.
