What Does An Idiot Author Do To Complement Advertising On Social Media?

The Idiot allocates a significant budget to advertise his brand and promote The Idiot and the Odyssey book trilogy on social media. But in 2019 the shy and reclusive author will also revive an old-school method to sell his three travel narratives: real-time public appearances to discuss the genesis, evolution and execution of his twenty-year walk around the Mediterranean Sea between 1998-2018.

The Idiot is convinced, by past performance and sales, that it’s much more fun and productive to sell books through media appearances and pitches to real people than to measure and analyze clicks generated by advertisements on Facebook. The book gigs kick off at 4 p.m.on Sunday, January 13, at Barnes & Noble in Corte Madera, California (think Marin County and San Rafael). Come join the party.

About Joel

Joel Stratte-McClure has been a global trekker since the 1970s. He lived in France for over 30 years, working as a journalist, before he turned his attention to a unique life-time-project of walking the shores of the Mediterranean. The first 4,401 kilometers are explored in his inspirational and entertaining first book "The Idiot and the Odyssey: Walking the Mediterranean." The next 4,401 kilometers are covered in the gods-filled sequel, "The Idiot and the Odyssey II: Myth, Madness and Magic on the Mediterranean,” published on Valentine's Day 2013. The last 4,401 kilometers will be discussed in the last book of the trilogy currently entitled "The Idiot and the Odyssey III: Alexander the Great Walks the Mediterranean."
