Where Does The Idiot Hike During The First Days Of Autumn?

The Idiot celebrated his 73rd September equinox, which annually heralds the beginning of fall, on the Pacific Ocean last week by, typically, taking a hike.

Here’s where he walked on the Mediterranean Sea and elsewhere during the autumnal equinox in the past.

The Idiot spent this year’s autumnal equinox walking on the Pacific Ocean in Northern California.

The Pacific Ocean in northern California observed the 2020 September equinox with a resounding demonstration of crashing waves.

The Idiot climbed to the summit of Mount Olympus in Greece during the equinox in September 2009 to gather material for The Idiot and the Odyssey trilogy of travel narratives.

The Idiot was hired to lead a group of American walkers on the French Riviera during the September equinox in 2012 before resuming his 20-year walk around the Mediterranean Sea.

The Idiot was in Paris on Ile Saint-Louis during the autumn equinox in 2016.

“The Idiot and the Odyssey” team participated in the Walk To End Alzheimer in Redding, California, during the September equinox in 2017.

But don’t think The Idiot ignores the vernal equinox heralding the beginning of spring in March.

About Joel

Joel Stratte-McClure has been a global trekker since the 1970s. He lived in France for over 30 years, working as a journalist, before he turned his attention to a unique life-time-project of walking the shores of the Mediterranean. The first 4,401 kilometers are explored in his inspirational and entertaining first book "The Idiot and the Odyssey: Walking the Mediterranean." The next 4,401 kilometers are covered in the gods-filled sequel, "The Idiot and the Odyssey II: Myth, Madness and Magic on the Mediterranean,” published on Valentine's Day 2013. The last 4,401 kilometers will be discussed in the last book of the trilogy currently entitled "The Idiot and the Odyssey III: Alexander the Great Walks the Mediterranean."
