Why Did The Idiot Read Rocks To Determine Why A Tree Was Beheaded?

The Idiot has long been a fervent fan of the Peace Labyrinth on the Sacramento River Trail in Redding, California. Naturally he was saddened when he discovered that a tree overshadowing the labyrinth had been guillotined last week by crews cleaning the trail.

Rather than attempting to determine who was responsible for the seemingly unnecessary dissevering, he meditatively strolled through the Peace Labyrinth and read messages on the rocks that fellow walkers have left behind to more than double the size of the labyrinth during the past decade.

The Idiot, before he arrived and when he left the Peace Labyrinth on the Sacramento River Trail last week, thanked crews for their efforts to clean the path. He didn’t mention the tree.

In memoriam.
