Why Does The Idiot Stay In Airbnb’s On And Off The MedTrek?

The Idiot has recently stayed in Airbnb lodgings in Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Israel, Egypt, Tunisia, France, England and the US. The San Francisco company, an online marketplace that enables clients to rent out their properties or spare rooms, has no shortage of fans and detractors.

Fans like the variety, the price, the comfort and the income but detractors claim the short-term rental option has taken properties off the long-term rental market (making rentals more expensive), destroyed the neighborhood sense of community (too many strangers) and impacted business for hotels (who cares?).

Now, in transitional and trendy LA neighborhoods, apartments are being built exclusively as Airbnb rentals. Check out the sleek Scrandianvian, three-bedroom, two-bath apartment-built-as-an-Airbnb that The Idiot rented two steps from the Occidental College campus in transitional/trendy Highland Park this week.
